Plastic Fighters – Greece
Solution: LAKEWISE & PLASTIC FREE Score: 95.33 points
Plastic Fighters have been selected as the Local Winners and will proudly represent our community in the Global DigiEduHack Competition.
Τhe Greek team, coordinated by Anna-Maria Kanzola, created LAKEWISE & PLASTIC FREE, an educational app combining storytelling, mythological avatars, gamified missions, and real-world actions to fight plastic pollution in freshwater environments. Through interactive lessons guided by the Nereids, users learn the lifecycle of plastics, explore sustainable lifestyle choices, join community missions, and track their environmental progress. The app blends culture, science, and behavioral change to build a generation of informed “water guardians.”
Their passion, clarity of vision, and commitment to freshwater protection truly stood out. Further instructions for the global stage will follow soon.
But, we also celebrate the collective brilliance and determination of all teams. Every project reflected deep care for ProCleanLakes’ lakes and a powerful drive to create change. The evaluators, together with Alexandru Capatina from UDJG and Eriona Canga from ANRI, were genuinely moved by the excellence of their work.
Because of the outstanding achievements, each of the teams will receive a Special Award, along with a personalized trophy, a symbol of their meaningful contribution to freshwater protection.
