Τhe Greek team, coordinated by Anna-Maria Kanzola, created LAKEWISE & PLASTIC FREE, an educational app combining storytelling, mythological avatars, gamified missions, and real-world actions to fight plastic pollution in freshwater environments.

The EU-funded ProCleanLakes project organized a dynamic hybrid workshop from 25th to 30th August 2025, bringing together over 30 participants from Norway, Romania, Austria, Croatia, France, Spain, Germany, and Greece. Hosted at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, the workshop also welcomed online participants, fostering a rich international exchange of knowledge and ideas. The ProCleanLakes project is pleased to announce the results of its Open Call for Associated Regions, which invited applications from across Europe to support innovative, region-specific solutions for the protection and restoration of natural lakes. The Open Call ran from 1 January to 8 April 2025, offering a total budget of €300,000 to fund three selected regional projects, each receiving between up €100,000. The funded projects will officially launch between October 2025 and January 2026, with implementation period by September 2027.
